Helping people maximise their income

A Helping Hand campaign is under way with the aim of showing people where they can get advice if they’re experiencing financial challenges.
City of Lincoln Council is working with partners on the project, which has the tagline ‘sometimes we all need a helping hand’, and is particularly aimed at people experiencing poor health.
As well as offering benefits advice, the city council also runs a money advice service for residents in the city which is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
Joanne Crookes, Customer Services Manager, said: “Our money advice service provides information and advice to help people manage their financial affairs, including suggestions of how you can increase your income and reduce your expenditure and contacting people and organisations that people may owe money to and negotiating rates of repayment.
“This is a free and confidential service where we can meet with the person either at our offices or at their home.
“We know that talking about a financial situation can be an upsetting prospect but our staff are very experienced and will treat you fairly, sensitively and respectfully at all times so I would urge anyone who needs help to contact us as soon as possible.”
Helping Hand materials are being promoted in each GP Surgery in Lincoln, along with Lincolnshire Co-operative Pharmacies, and Lloyds Pharmacy.
